Tampa Supercross Race Report

Tampa, Florida - February 13, 2023

On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Ronnie Stewart took to the track for his first Monster Energy AMA Supercross of the year.

For the first time in the history of our sport, the two racing disciplines of Supercross and Motocross collaborate for what is now called the SuperMotocross World Championship. Premier riders will compete in a playoff format in early fall for the chance to be crowned the overall champion of the two most prestigious series in the world.

As a veteran of the sport, celebrating his 15th year racing professionally, Ronnie has recently expanded his teaching programs, hosting full-time trainees at his Florida residence. This winter marks his first season launching the new program. This has been a popular hit for riders from up North, specifically within the New England area where he hosts training camps and schools in the summer months, as they are able to extend their riding and training season.

It was a unique week leading up to the Tampa Supercross. In many ways, it didn’t feel like a traditional race week. My focus was on helping students achieve their goals and set routines that lead to success. I had the privilege to show them by applying concepts on and off the bike to be my best going into the weekend. I take a lot of pride in living with integrity and there is no better way to show my students than by demonstration.

A hot and humid first race back, Ronnie qualified 41st, just missing the top 40 who make “the night show” racing program. The team was thrilled to be back at the races and enjoyed meeting with the fans during the FanFest and autograph signing at the Legend and Heros Mobile Moto Museum. While bummed at the qualifying results, Ronnie remained positive and focused on his goals moving forward, including recovering from a recent viral infection that prevented him from getting his full training in during the weeks leading up to the race.

Ronnie’s next race will be on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Daytona International Speedway. Continue to follow along with Ronnie on social media.
