Daytona Supercross Race Report

Daytona Beach, Florida - March 4th, 2023

On Saturday, March 4th, 2023 Ronnie Stewart entered his second Monster Energy AMA Supercross race of 2023 at Daytona International Speedway, famously known as The World Center of Racing. The course at round eight of the series is one of a kind. The layout and various soil types make it a true hybrid track mixing the best obstacles of Motocross and Supercross.

A sunny summerlike day found thousands of fans out and about enjoying FanFest. The Speedway is the heartbeat of Daytona Bike Week and the energy was felt by everyone who attended. The sight of Ronnie signing hats, shirts, posters, and taking pictures with fans was confirmation, that motorcycle enthusiasts are alive and well.

Ronnie was eager and focused on more success during the daytime program, to secure a spot on the gate in heat one or two. A qualifying position of 37th put him into heat two in the night show. After the daytime qualifying was over, there were brief celebrations in the Legends and Heroes, Yuasa Battery pit, as Ronnie had made his first night show of the season. He quickly began visualizing his races. The depth of competition makes it essential to get a good start and from Ronnie not racing for a while, his starts could have been better. Nonetheless, he rode to a 15th in heat 2, and 11th in the LCQ.

It was so awesome to get on my bike and lineup at another Supercross night show. It’s the best feeling buckling that helmet, fixing your gloves and goggles, fist-pumping my dad who was my mechanic while being next to the best Supercross riders. It is something special and I thrive off that type of intensity and focus.
— said Ronnie with a smile an his face

Ronnie will resume his racing in April at Atlanta Motor Speedway (April 15th) before heading back north, to his birthplace state of New Jersey for the MetLife Supercross (April 22). Make sure to follow him on social media for live updates.
